4th Grade Recognition

Claire finished fourth grade this year, and she will be starting at the middle school next year. They don't have a "graduation," they have a recognition where the students sing a couple of songs and have a video. They all get a certificate for completing elementary school. We really appreciated her teachers this year. Mr. Halligan was her main teacher, and Mrs. Tell was her science teacher. They are a bit crazy, and that is why they were so wonderful. Thanks for the great year.

First Time Fueling

Last week Brett's car needed gas. I told Caleb to take my credit card and fill the car. He told me he had never put gas in the car by himself. WHAT! He's been driving for a year. So I took him out to put gas in my car to teach him.

1st picture - removing the gas cap
2nd picture - it isn't working
3rd picture - it really isn't working
- I showed him how to turn the pump on
4th picture - fueling the car

Ah...

Some friends brought their dog to the ward picnic. The littles wanted to take him for a walk, but he is too strong. Caleb, concerned for their safety (dog & littles), decided to help out.

Pampered

Brett likes to have Emily and/or Claire give him pedicures.

Shorts Weather?

After some very cold temperatures, my children left the house for our ward Christmas breakfast dressed like this. I guess after sub zero, temperatures in the teens feel balmy.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Brett and I got to chaperone a Senior High dance. It was pretty fun. The students were very well behaved. They had just changed the dance policy to have "no grinding." So many of the "grinders" didn't come. There weren't too many people at the dance, but the ones who came seemed to have a really good time.

Oh, Christmas Tree(s)

We set up our Christmas decorations and had cookies and eggnog. Yum!

Nine Years Later

Nine years ago I drove with the four children to Utah. We made a stop at the Winter Quarters LDS Temple on our way. A couple of weeks ago we went there as a family.

I think the little ones have grown up a bit.

School's Out

Today is the second day of summer break, and Emily is already missing school. She commented to me today, "I miss school. They actually feed us lunch."
